TASA February Meeting

Members gathered recently to discuss possibilities for future TASA programs and other upcoming textile-related events.  Among the topics covered were the TASA Winter 2013 program, the February 20th visit to textile artist, Lucinda Carlstrom’s studio, and the TASA Spring 2013 program, which will be held on April 10th at the home of Stephanie Jolluck.  Stephanie works with women’s co-ops in Guatemala.  In addition, attendees were reminded of the upcoming program sponsored by the Peachtree Handspinners Guild and the Southeast Fiber Arts Alliance (SEFAA):  Linda Cortright Live! on March 23rd.  Linda Cortright is the well-traveled editor of Wild Fibers magazine (see the sidebar to link to Seminar details).

Here are some images from the textiles shared at the meeting:

Welcome to TASA!

Welcome to the new Textile Appreciation Society of Atlanta (TASA) blog!  We are an organization of textile collectors, educators, artists and other individuals who enjoy learning about and sharing textiles.  TASA presents four textile programs each year: a winter, spring, summer and fall program (see the side bar for information on our current program).   At TASA’s annual business meeting, members have an opportunity to share textiles from their own collections.  TASA is a group member of SEFAA (Southeast Fiber Arts Alliance), and TASA members receive SEFAA’s monthly newsletter.  Please see the “About” page for membership information.
