Multi-talented fiber artist Karen Tunnel (www.karentunnell.com) has been designing and fabricating art quilts and wall hangings—including commissioned large-scale fabric sculptures and architectural installations—for more than 40 years. Most recently she has been focused on hydro-printing (marbling) that she then appliqués, quilts or uses as the background for hand-drawn images.
Karen has exhibited her work in museums throughout the United States. In addition she has taught at the John C. Campbell Folk School, the High Museum of Art, Arrowmont School of Crafts, Chastain Art Center, Callanwolde, among scores of other schools. She has participated in the American Crafts Council show in Atlanta. Her fabric art hangs in dozens of corporate, school and private collections.
